October 20, 2017 year in Kiev will perform with his trio of legendary jazz pianist and singer Johnny O'Neal (USA)

The musician, whose January concert gathered sea rave reviews, again to visit Ukraine. And empty-handed! At the beginning of autumn is scheduled the long-awaited release of the new album by Johnny O'neill. Odessa audiophiles will get an excellent opportunity not only to evaluate the first fresh material, but also purchase disks with the autograph of the famous improviser. 



The concert, organized by the International Jazz Subscription will take place within the framework of the project "Jazz from New York. Its main purpose is to provide Ukrainian public the opportunity to enjoy the improvisations of jazz capital of the world right in the Centre of Kiev, in the cosy Hall concert Club Bel'Etage.

Johnny O'neal is famous for its unique performance style, which combines the incredible technical virtuosity and gentle balladnyj tunefulness. A major influence on his art had a jazz legend Oscar Peterson and Art Tatum. Pianist, long recognized this icon of neo-BOP, stood on the same stage and recorded with stars such as guitarist Russell Malone (Russel Malone) and trumpeter Clark Terry (Clark Terry).



From 1981 onwards the Detroit-born Johnny O'neill moved to New York, where he got a permanent job in the legendary Blue Note Club. Here he accompanied Dizzy Gillespie (Dizzy Gillespie), Ray Brown (Ray Brown), Nancy Wilson (Nancy Wilson), Joe Pass (Joe Pass) and Kenny Burrell (Kenny Burrell). Along with Art Blakey Jazz Messengers O'neill performed with 1982 to 1983 and 1985 year debuted at Carnegie Hall-Hall, is a true mecca for musicians around the world.



On the advice of Oscar Peterson, Johnny O'neal participated in the filming of Oscar-winning film Ray (2004), where exceptional played the role of his idol and teacher-pianist Art Tjejtuma.

Despite advanced age (he turned 60 recently) Johnny O'neal continues to advocate. During a recent concert with famed Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra under the baton of Wynton Marsalis, pianist awarded a standing ovation.
